Welcome to the new NFL season. With the first game completed I'd like to congratulate the New England Patriots on having the WORST RECORD IN THE NFL.

Can't say that very often, so I had to take the shot. :)

David, give it time. I try to be optimistic but the Niners will soon join them I'm sure.

Tom looked shockingly human. Small sample size but maybe that bodes well for the rest of the league?

And good on that kid recovering nicely from fumbling his first NFL carry.

Sure it's a small sample size, but KC was a playoff team last year so it's not like they were playing the Jets or Browns or anything.

I'm more surprised that Alex Smith looks like he transformed from game manager to gunslinger in the off season. Curious if he can keep that up all year.

Agreed. Smith is playing for his job, but I hope by the time they play the Broncos he's back to his old inconsistent ways. :)

I wasn't able to watch the game, but it my Raiders had a nice win against the Titans. And Marshawn Lynch did very well in his 1st game back for his 1 year retirement.

Wasn't pretty, but my Eagles won a "must win" first week game away at Washington. First win against Washington since 2014 and first time AT Washington since 2013. Something about that team has just has the Birds number for the last couple of years.

Broncos tried to lose but the defense decided to win. I predict a stressful season for Denver fans.

    Run the goddamn ball, Pederson.

Eagles had 17 rushing plays (4 of which were scrambled by Wentz, so 13 called rush plays) and 46 pass attempts. Oline didn’t play great in the 4th but when everyone including my 8 year old knew they were going to pass the ball, the D line can just pin their ears back and go for the QB.

Smith looked fine, wasn’t the gunslinger we were talking about last week. But he played good enough to win a tough game. *Hot Take* I think this Kareem Hunt could be a pretty good running back.

    Eagles should have won.

My Raiders had a very good game against the Redskins and are now 2-0.

Your Raiders killed my Jets. :(

Not a big KC fan but they are straight out punching teams in the face. They've never been a physical team, but they sure look physical now.

Wow. NFL Power Rankings after week 2 have three AFC West teams in the top 5: KC (1) Oakland (3) Denver (4)

I love tracking the NFL Power Rankings. I mean they mean as much after week 2 mean about as much as my aforementioned 8 year old throwing darts at a dartboard, but they're fun to watch!

Denver's Siemian, by fantasy points is the #3 QB after 2 weeks. And only used in 13% of leagues. Already taken in my league, I can't grab him :)

Well that was entertaining. Eagles leading the G Men for most of the game, allow them to score 3 unanswered touchdowns in like 5 and a half minutes and ended up winning it with a 61 yard field goal by a rookie with 1 second left on the clock.

Not pretty, but a win is a win.

By the end of the game between previous injuries and injuries this game the Eagles D was playing without their best d lineman, best linebacker, starting safety, and two starting corners.

Jets are currently the best team in East Rutherford right now.

    Wow, that was ugly! :(

Props where they are deserved; the Redskins absolutely dominated my Raiders in all aspects of the game except, ironically, penalties. They played a damn fine game and earned the win.

Lots of problems to point to for the Silver & Black, but the same old show of horrors called the Raider Pass Defense once again lead the defensive stumbles out the gate. Damned secondary simply cannot cover and hasn't been able to for years. Washington was something like 25 of 30 for 350+ yards passing, which is just embarrassing.

Seeing the Steelers lose and the Ravens humiliated is almost as good as a Browns win. ;) Especially when the Jets win.

I wasn't able to watch any of the games this week but the highlight shows have been entertaining. I like O/T and last second wins!

The Eagles might be a legit team this year. They won a very hard fought game last night against both the Panthers and the refs.

And I know that everyone likes to hate on the refs, but in this case I actually have some numbers to back up my hatred. Last night they called 10 penalties for 126 yards against the Eagles and 1 for 1 yard against the Panthers. 1 freaking yard.

So you're thinking, oh you're still just a homer and maybe the Eagles played a sloppy game and Carolina played a perfect game. Maybe that's true, but let's look at the last 4 Eagles games refed by this particular crew. Pete Morelli's crew has called 40 penalties for 396 yards against the Eagles and 8 penalties for 74 yards for the opponent.

There's something going on there and I think the NFL needs to really look into what is going on with that particular crew.
